New Padfone details and hands-on video from CES 2012

We figured that the Padfone would make an appearance at CES 2012. Although it hasn’t been widely publicized, Asus did have it available for viewing.

We’ve learned the naming of the tablet portion of the Padfone is the Padstation. Makes sense to us! There still isn’t an official release date. The nugget from this hands-on video is that the Padfone will be compatible with the Asus Transformer TF101 keyboard docking station. That’s pretty cool. The bad news? We’re hearing that it’s not going to be available in North America initially. That shouldn’t be surprising. Other Asus 3G tablets have not come to North America and were released only in Europe. Same goes for the Padfone apparently. This could change of course.
